IVAN STEFANEK

è nato il 30 marzo 1942 a Hrastosvko, vicino a Ludbreg.E' commerciante di professione. Dipinge dal 1965. Ha cominciato a dipingere su masonite e su tela, ma quando ha visto per la prima volta i dipinti di Ivan Generalic, ha deciso di dipingere su vetro. Ha avuto i primi insegnamenti da Ivan Lackovic Croata e da Dragan Gazi. Negli ultimi trent'anni ha dipinto più di 800 quadri ed ha esposto le sue opere in alcune mostre individuali e in più di 100 mostre collettive sia in Croazia che nel mondo. Ivan Stefanek appartiene al circolo della scuola di Hlebine, ma si distingue per la sua espressione artistica. Questa singolarità si manifesta maggiormente nei colori, che sono distinti da quelli degli autori della Podravine nonchè nei forti tratti di pennello. I temi sono molto diversi, e l'armonia dei colori rivela l'autore innamorato della natura che lo circonda e gli offre tutta la sua allegria. Tuttavia i temi principali sono i paesaggi con acque, con uccelli e con altri animali. dipinge i paesaggi che non esistono più. Sono le scene che egli ricorda ancora dall'infanzia, quando la natura era ancora più pura e genuina. Gli piace dipingere i prati con molti fiori, le vigne in primavera e in autunno, accentuando i dettagli che stanno scomparendo.
