VLADIMIR IVANCAN

è nato il 27 aprile del 1954 a Molve, in Podravina. Ha terminato l'istituto tecnico chimico a Zagabria. I suoi primi dipinti rammentano troppo la pittura di Mijo Kovacic; nel 1974 comincia a esporre le sue opere nelle mostre collettive. Ha allestito la prima mostra individuale nel 1979. Intorno all'anno 1980 si libera totalmente dell'influsso di Mijo Kovacic e intraprende il cammino originale. Nel 1984 completamente sicuro di sè, abbandona il lavoro fisso del tecnico chimico e diventa pittore professionale. Ha esposto le sue opere in più di un centinaio di mostre individuali e collettive in Croazia e all'estero. Oggi vive e lavora a Molve. Ivancan il pittore della brama soffocata, è la più grande speranza dell'arte naive croata.

His early paintings recall too Mijo Kovacic's painting and in 1974 began to exhibit his works in group exhibitions. He staged the first solo exhibition in 1979. Around the year 1980, totally free of the influence of Mijo Kovacic and takes the original path. In 1984, completely sure of himself, leaving the hard work of professional chemical engineer and became a painter. He has exhibited his works in more than one hundred solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. Today he lives and works in Ling. Ivancan the painter of suppressed longing, hope is the largest Croatian naive art.
